There is no mention of what powers the module here, and I suspect it is a regular 5V, isolated SMPS. @RobHeffo suggests transformerless power supply, but that is not a good idea, for the current drawn by the ESP the capacitor will be too big. There are alternatives, like this guy, LNK306 : http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/328/lnk302_304-306-179954.pdf . It is not isolated, but the thing is probably the best cost option for such a device.
Using SO for internal wiring is something that I have often done — it is resilent, flexible, and high temperature. Also a joy to strip.
The Mode dial on the left shoulder is used to select the camera’s operating mode. An angled panel allows you to view four buttons from either the rear or above: Menu, Movie, Exposure Compensation, and Auto-exposure Lock buttons.
I had three electrocutions with mains voltage in about one hour. It was a dark and stormy night, when I decided to try again building my own half-bridge SMPS which had tendency to explode whenever I plugged it in. It was made of two boards: one contained EMI filters, bridge, fuse and HV electrolytic capacitors, other had high-side controller, transistors, transformer and everything else. When another transistor decided that it would rather choose new Pope instead of working, I got a bit angry. I grabbed something to drink in kitchen, returned and grabbed the board in order to smash it against the wall. I forgot to unplug it first. Ouch. Half a hour later, it was still dark and stormy night, I attempted to fix an ATX supply. When I was grabbing something from behind of supply, I touched the board with my forearm. Supply was plugged, of course. Ouch. Half a hour later, yes, it was a dark and annoying night, I was still working on the ATX supply. I unplugged the supply and was inspecting the traces, my nose and lower lip brushed solder pads of those two big caps that were charged to ~320V. I went to bed with my face hurting…

Uh, maybe i should not post using a foreign language a 01:00 AM… Correction: It should be broken –> It COULD be broken
⢠Circuit conditions such as the peak voltage and current during the surge event ⢠The MOV continuous operating voltage (should be at 20% above maximum system voltage under normal conditions) ⢠The number of surges the MOV must survive ⢠Acceptable let-through voltage for the protected circuit ⢠Any safety standards with which the circuit must comply
Tilt / swivel LCD. At the rear, the 3-inch LCD dominates much of the available real-estate, and its tilt/swivel mechanism — appearing for the first time in an Alpha camera — can be clearly seen. The display tilts down 180 degrees and then swivels 270 degrees, allowing it to face any direction except to the front right (handgrip) quadrant. The design not only allows easy framing of high- and low-angle shots, but also allows subjects in front of the lens to see themselves — but only when somebody’s available to hold the camera. Since the display tilts downwards, it will be blocked from view when mounted on a tripod, and can’t be extended beyond the 90-degree position with the camera placed on a flat surface, so the only way to use it for self-portraits is to hold the camera at arm’s length. It can also be difficult to deploy and use with the camera mounted on a tripod.

I can’t speak for the Model 3 since I don’t know anyone who owns one yet, and Tesla has removed charging rates at 110 volts from their distance calculator.
Didn’t have to purchase any EVSE. My 2016 Volt came with one, that was L2 capable. You only needed to make a pigtail. It’s actually a Clipper Creek. So, for about $60, I installed a NEMA L6-20 outlet, with 20amp double-pole breaker, and 8 ft of 10-4 wire that I had left over. $20 got me a permit.
In my experience, the more people know about electricity, the more cautious they are. And the more they have to deal with dangerous voltages, the more cautious they are. With few exceptions, most Youtubers you see doing dangerous stuff online have no idea what they are doing. Speak to a decent electrician and you’ll see they work more safely than most engineers and thousand time safer than amateurs. We don’t really need electrical cowboys showing off how dangerous the stuff they do is.
