Obviously, I enjoy having the Kia Niro around, either in plug-in or standard hybrid variants. Itâs not a driverâs car by any means, but for a geek who likes plotting fuel spending in Excel, this would have me dancing in my spreadsheets. This Niro PHEV has me studying what it would take to wire a dedicated charging station in my garage in place of that worn 120v socket.
As it stands now, Republicans need Flake’s vote to pass any nominations out of the 11-10 Judiciary panel for floor consideration. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell does have the ability to simply move these nominations himself, but so far he has not seemed interested in making this practice a habit.
All this stuff makes me think it might be time to get a Faraday cage installed around my heart. Or maybe a big shunt from shoulder to shoulder.
While we don’t currently have details on the precise viewfinder type employed by the Sony A33 — Sony describes it as a 0.46-inch diagonal (0.43-inch effective) Xtra Fine LCD Tru-Finder — it clearly employs a time-multiplexed method to display red, green, and blue color information at every pixel location, suggesting it is likely a ferroelectric LCD. This differs from traditional LCD displays, which mostly create color information with a cluster of three adjacent red, green, and blue subpixels (commonly called ‘dots’), for each pixel location. When compared to standard LCD electronic viewfinders, ferroelectric types bring both advantages and disadvantages. They’ve proven somewhat divisive in the past, due to their tendency to demonstrate RGB "rainbow" artifacts when you blink or move your eyes, or with fast-moving subjects. On the positive side, though, since each pixel provides full color, ferroelectric LCDs tend to look much smoother and more detailed than their traditional LCD siblings, with less obvious pixel structure. They also tend to have higher refresh rates, and indeed Sony specs the EVF used in the A33 as offering a 60Hz refresh rate. It’s not surprising to see such a display adopted by Sony, since Konica Minolta — the company Sony absorbed to create its DSLR division — was a particular proponent of their use.
The problem is that the triac may dissipate more than 15W when using it at 10A, which requires a good heatsink and ventilation. That’s a lot of overkill if you just want to control a 6W LED lamp.
I have plenty of stuff in my garage, including plenty of filled gas cans, but I have nothing within 18″ of the floor. Even the hot-tub boiler is elevated, which is why you see gas water heaters in garages elevated by concrete blocks.
> those who haven had the opportunity to study electricity or had made the effort to study it. Can’t let Darwin wipe them out when they happens to the target market… Even worse is that there are people that want to build printers on their own, but are not qualified to wire stuff to line voltage safely.
Kapton tape is nice but I know it peels and needs replacing eventually. You wouldn’t legally be able to sell something using just tape as a mains insulator. Glass can break. It’s a small chance, but risk should be proportionate to the danger when things fail. You might sometimes have metal screws or whatnot on the bed if you’re assembling a couple of pieces there. Best not to mess.
The main benefits of the RGC..32 include the fact it has the highest amperage rating of any 17.8 or 22.5mm wide solid state switching devices available on the market, DIN rail spacing over 22.5 mm platform, optional cage clamp power terminal for wires up to 3 AWG size, and energy savings due to lower power dissipation.
There’s a proper place for a relay and a proper place for a SSR. And I agree this solution should have been a relay.
Actually, some places (notably Australia and the UK) go to 240V, and this is +/- 10%, so theoretically you could be seeing anything up to 264V supplied. However, the supply companies seem to have a “better high than low” philosophy, and my UPS tells me I am currently receiving 257V on a 240V line. I actually believe the UPS, as I’ve regularly seen this happen with test equipment on the line.
Thanks to its smaller body, and especially their reduced height due to the lack of a pentaprism or pentamirror assembly, the Sony A33 looks rather aggressive, with the popup flash housing hunched low over the top of the lens barrel. A soft, rubber pad surrounds most of the handgrip, and wraps around to the rear of the camera to cover a small, contoured thumb grip area as well.
