The use of isolation transformers that is suggested here is very dangerous as the residual current detector of the installation won’t detect anything if one gets electrocuted from the secondary of the transformer. I’d rather not use an isolation transformer unless I really need.
Actually, while HDR is the more glamorous feature, Sony’s Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO for short) deserves some attention, as I found myself relying more on it than HDR to manage tonal extremes. Most every camera company has some sort of an exposure mode that adjusts exposure and/or contrast to help avoid blowing highlights or plugging shadows. After several years of tweaking, I think that images shot with Sony’s DRO now look better than most. DRO defaults to the Auto setting on the Sony A33 and A55, and most times I checked, I liked the tonal balance of photos shot that way over that those with DRO turned off.
Sonos isn’t saying exactly when AirPlay 2 integration will be ready for release. Apple itself has yet to officially launch AirPlay 2 for iOS yet; it’s still in beta testing. So that part obviously needs to happen first. But Sonos has made enough progress to have finalized a list of which of speakers will get it. The Sonos One, second-gen Play:5, and Playbase will be updated with AirPlay 2 support. Older Sonos products — the Play:1, Play:3, and Playbar — won’t be. To help ease the pain and frustration of that cutoff, Sonos says that so long as you’ve got one speaker that can do AirPlay 2 in your Sonos setup, you can group it with older models to make that audio play everywhere. Mac Observer first reported the list of supported devices.
2) If breathing and everything seems fine, there can still be some arrythmia that will manifest only hours later. It is a good idea to visit a doctor for EKG readings, or at the very least have someone monitor you for the next few hours and if you go unconscious, be present to give CPR & call ambulance.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been clear that, aside from any spending bills, Republicans’ priority for the end of the year is to keep pushing judges through — and if Flake holds on this issue, it could throw a wrench into that plan.
120V comes with a nice plug (NEMA 5-15P) that is smaller than EU’s and you can fit more of them onto a power bar. There are always two outlets in a wall receptacle. Unless you have wet fingers, 120V won’t kill you (usually). Ask most kids that stuck things in the wall outlet and have lived to tell their tale… it is very common. Aluminum wire for branch circuits in homes was all but banned three decades ago or more. I think you have embellished things a bit. Look up the history why Europe went 50 Hz, instead of a higher frequency like 60 Hz… your lower 50 Hz results in heavier transformer cores. Find out why Japan is 100V, and the country is split 50/60 Hz! There is always politics, and not pure technical reasons.
If it is a three phase installation then there are four wires run. These are three phases and the star centre point or neutral.
Pedantic FWIW: Afghanistan and North Korea and some banana nations use 110V. USA uses 120V/240V. Japan is the oddball, using 100V. Annoying because you can’t draw more than 1 kilowatt from a socket there (kettle, hair dryer, space heater…). And having lived with the three voltages (100V, 120V, 240V) on four continents, I’ll happily take the 120V supply instead of the 240V.
Yeah really though. It’s kind of embarrassing. I’m an engineer and work in big industry (usually minerals, bulk material handling, oil and gas, doing a big robotics project right now for a wood products plant, etc.) and this would be an afterthought. No one would even question it. I mean really a no brainer. People use electric blankets on their bed. I really don’t get it. It really shows how amateur hour most of the people who comment on this site are.
1) the frequency (50-60 Hz) tends to make muscles spasm repeatedly (DC spasms and stays there) 2) the frequency can interfere with cardiac electrochemical signalling (your heart goes into fibrillation) 3) the current can pass through capacitance (shielding) and via inductance 4) the current can pass through ground return and other single-wire, open circuit States
