You can share neutrals among, say, receptacle circuits, if you make sure that there’s some kind of disconnecting means that opens all the conductors associated with all the circuits that share a neutral. That might be a multipole breaker, or it might be handle ties that physically tie breaker handles together, forcing all to trip if any trip.

Overall though, if everything is designed so it can’t hurt you, even in far fetched and unlikely worst case scenarios then many things would just never get made. In this case I think you could make a safe heated bed as long as you take safeguards to ensure a low probability of accidental shock. A simple enclosure around the board and the connections would more or less end the shock safety debate. Fire is another issue I guess, probably a fuse would solve that.

With the introduction of the RGC..32, Carlo Gavazzi now offers a solution for switching up to 37 AAC at 40°C that fits in the 17.8mm wide platform with a depth of 103mm. The triac can handle 8 amp continuously and upwards to 60 amps in surges. But the 8 amp is if heatsinked enough. If you insist on a 15 amp capability replace the triac with a 25-30 amp model instead. But will *still* need heatsinking. I triac usually drops upwards to 1 volt, so pushing 15 amps in a triac regardless of size will generate up to 15 watts, and that will generate a *lot* of head in a hurry.

I’ve done enough research about power capacitors and mains voltage that after I unplug anything, including all the TV’s that I work on, to repeatedly press and/or hold the power button until I’m satisfied that it’s discharged before cracking it open.
