They all have a ceramic rod or coil wrapped with nichrome wire that turn red hot. A vaccum forming table design I looked at used ceramic rods made the same way with reflectors to evenly distribute the heat. I believe all of the above (I did not verify if the table was) were UL marked.
The Sweep Panorama modes create lengthy panoramic images with a single sweep over the scene, and do a good job of automatically correcting for uneven panning, although they do sometimes show stairstepping in nearby subjects. The 3D variant is particularly unusual, in that it calculates separate left and right-eye views by comparing the positions of subjects as seen by the left and right sides of the lens. The result is saved as a multi-picture object file containing separate left- and right-eye JPEG views of the scene, for viewing on 3D displays.
In college, I was playing with our nitrogen laser which had a huge exposed Blumlein discharge capacitor. So large that a bottle with fluorescent die had been set on it. While the laser was running, I picked up the bottle, and received several 20-30kV discharges to my hand. The exit was my bare feed on concrete. I was able to count the hits afterward, because each one left a small burn mark on my hand. That hurt.
Neutral is connected to Earth Ground at your electrical panel. Circuit breakers interrupt the LINE only so I’m not sure what you mean by soil resistivity and current flowing in earth ground. 500 micro amps flowing or rather, leaking through Earth ground is usually all that’s allowed by UL in cord-connected products.
In the case of an opto-couple my ‘rule of thumb’ is for the min to be the distance between the pads on left and right rows of pins. ie nothing under the opto at all apart from the pads connecting the pins.
It’s a little unusual to see an effective pixel resolution for an electronic viewfinder, but we believe the reason effective resolution is some 20% lower than the EVF’s actual pixel count is that Sony has selected an LCD with approximately a 4:3 aspect ratio, but are only using the central 16:9 aspect ratio swathe of the display. This is likely done both to match the rear-panel LCD display aspect, and also because even with this crop, the EVF already has a generous 1.1x magnification — much higher than that of most APS-C DSLRs — and a somewhat tight eyepoint of 19mm from the viewfinder eyepiece (18mm from the eyepiece frame). Were the whole display used, the eyepoint would fall uncomfortably low — it’s already just a little tight for eyeglass wearers. Thankfully, it includes an unusually wide -4 to +4 diopter adjustment range, better mitigating the tight eyepoint for those with eyeglass prescriptions inside this range. It also has a 100% field of view, and three step automatic / manual brightness control.
Overall though, if everything is designed so it can’t hurt you, even in far fetched and unlikely worst case scenarios then many things would just never get made. In this case I think you could make a safe heated bed as long as you take safeguards to ensure a low probability of accidental shock. A simple enclosure around the board and the connections would more or less end the shock safety debate. Fire is another issue I guess, probably a fuse would solve that.
In the second week, I’m not even sure why I did it, I was working on a pinball machine and measured 240V between the chrome plates on the front of the 2 pinball machines to either side of the one I was working on. The electrician had “forgotten” to hook any of the earths for the whole building.
Under a heavy load, an A/C unit can trip an electrical breaker. Check the breaker box to make sure this hasn’t happened, and also use a multimeter to check the fuses inside the disconnect block next to your air conditioner to make sure they are still functioning. If either of these scenarios appear, there could be an underlying electrical problem with your home’s main box. Have an electrician look at that.
Ah yes, the typical “Letâs leave that discussion for somewhere else” when the downsides of EVs are pointed out…
With the large kossel build a mains heated bed is used. The mini kossel build used a reflective surface under the heated plate, a bit heath robinson, that it is used on the new larger build is good, heat is reflected up into the bed, lt worked well on the Mini Kossel.
You completely missed the point. The safety regulatory doesn’t change regardless of the *perception* or the *knowledge* of the person using it. If you are selling a product or publishing a design, you may ended up being liable for the end users. Even if you are the person that design and build your own stuff, plugging in something not certified pretty much voids your home insurance if it happens to be the cause of a fire etc. On the other hand if you are playing with ELV from UL etc approved/certified supplies, you are covered.
