Yeah or you could just make an idiot-proof low-voltage one, probably cheaper and easier. That’s the argument, low voltage is much easier to do safely.
@ [Martin] DC can kill you hours later because it goes through your body like lightning, it takes the path of the lowest resistance (usually the most moist path) and cooks everything in it’s path including vital organs.
I seem to remember one test video I saw online, possibly BigClive, finding that the actual rating on the faux-Fotek SSR that he was dissecting was rated at around 10A, in a 25A labeled SSR. I believe it was also a MOSFET instead of the SCR or TRIAC that it was supposed to have, as well.
The more you think about this the more you realise that there is actually no truly bomb proof way to organise it but the methods now being implemented are probably about the safest way for most situations.
2) If breathing and everything seems fine, there can still be some arrythmia that will manifest only hours later. It is a good idea to visit a doctor for EKG readings, or at the very least have someone monitor you for the next few hours and if you go unconscious, be present to give CPR & call ambulance.

Yeah, the US connector system is a mess. I just installed a system that’s supposed to use a NEMA 6-20 plug, but the building services people installed a NEMA L6-20 receptacle (locking version). Same electrical specs, but they don’t mate. Back to lopping off the plug and wiring my own g-d connector… Arrgh.
My 2 stage 23 x 24″ CASE snowblower I home-made converted to a 3 hp extension cord electric (240 on the Tesla outlet – peaks at 35 amperes and 7 1/2 hp). I was worried that I had underpowered it but last March when all the gas blowers on the street were stalling on heavy water laden snow, mine just kept barreling down the sidewalk.
This is a heater that’s going to be near fingers, or elbows, and is completely accessible to them, completely easy to touch. One day, when he’s distracted thinking about something else (not rare), he’ll end up touching the heater and getting a shock.
