A clean filter is vital to a well-functioning air conditioner. During the summer it is good to check your filters once a month. If you have pets, leave windows and doors open, or have allergies, you may need to change your filter more often.
Something about your calculation here doesn’t make sense to me. 117 EV miles, and I estimate a Niro like this will get roughly 3 miles per kWh (that’s what my Volt does roughly). That means 117/3 = 39 kWh used. 39 times your cheap electricity rate is $2.54, not $7.61.
Also, worth noting is that many cheap supplies out of China are designed for 110V/220V, +/- 10%. Consequently they’re designed to 121V/242V. For those of us in 240V areas, so in perfect conditions, they’re operating at the very top end of their specifications.
– Use isolated differential probes to measure high voltage. – Use current clamps or current transformers to measure current. – Put bleeding resistors in any big capacitor in your circuit. – Don’t change the position of the probes in the power circuit without power everything down. – Don’t work with high voltages alone. – If there’s more people involved in your experiment, block any circuit breaker, button or at least put some signs to prevent people from turning them on while you are messing with the circuit. Paranoids may even ground things while they are playing with the installation to direct the current to the ground in case someone makes a mistake.
FR4 is actually quite a good insulator. It’s only real failure is when you have impurities on the surface of the PCB in very high humidity conditions. The impurities will cause the surface tension of the water molecules in air to lower and as this happens the water will condense onto the PCB. The water on the PCB reduces the effective creepage clearance and can cause a flash over or arc.
Historically, there were two post-war electric utilities, and one contracted with GE for equipment, and the other contracted with Siemens – thus the two wound up with different frequencies.
The contacts therefore return to their normally closed position by spring power as the motor coasts to a stop.
It does seem to be an old electrician’s habit, never leaving the leads plugged into amps. Somebody commented on one of Big Clive’s videos about him doing that. Seems like a good habit to get into.
I’m confused… “Wire up the outlets for your mining rigs for 240 instead of 120”, shouldn’t you rig it up to use whatever enters your home. Apparently there is a choice, how is that possible, do they run their own generators over there?
Obviously, I enjoy having the Kia Niro around, either in plug-in or standard hybrid variants. Itâs not a driverâs car by any means, but for a geek who likes plotting fuel spending in Excel, this would have me dancing in my spreadsheets. This Niro PHEV has me studying what it would take to wire a dedicated charging station in my garage in place of that worn 120v socket.
A word of advice: if your idea of working safely on mains-powered stuff hinges on an RCD protecting you it might be a better idea to put down your tools and back away, slowly…
Like many things, it’s the few psychopaths who spoil it for the rest. For most people, it’s quite possibly an emotional disability.
