Fast AF. Phase-detect AF doesn’t hunt like contrast-detect, making for fast, smooth AF during movies. (Click to download 4.9MB MP4 file.)

Then when you step up a notch to the KV stage the safety rules change because air can now be a conductor.
This certainly looks like one of the more impressive ARM-powered Windows 10 laptops we’ve seen so far. The first few devices ran on the same Snapdragon 835 chip found in Android smartphones from last year, and they showed early promise with some issues that still needed work.
Where a conventional SLR has an optical viewfinder, the Sony A33/55 substitutes an electronic display with an eyepiece attached. (An electronic viewfinder, or EVF for short.) The image for the EVF is taken from the main image sensor, so the camera is essentially always in "Live View" mode. Mechanically, the eyepiece projects out from the back of the camera a fair bit, to leave room for the camera’s autofocus system in front of the EVFs micro display and viewfinder optics. I found I actually liked this rear projection, as it left a bit more room for my nose when I held the camera to my eye. Happily, the neckstrap eyelets are arranged such that the camera hangs lens-down when on a neck strap, so I had no trouble with the projecting eyepiece poking me in the chest.
⢠Lightning: In fact, transients induced by lightning are not the result of a direct strike. A lightning strike creates a magnetic field that can induce large magnitude transients in nearby electrical cables. A cloud-to-cloud strike can affect both overhead and buried cables. The outcome also is unpredictableâa strike that occurs a mile away can generate 70 V in electrical cables, and another can generate 10 kV from 160 yards away. ⢠Inductive-load switching: Generators, motors, relays, and transformers represent typical sources of inductive transients. Switching inductive loads on or off can generate high-energy transients that intensify in magnitude with increasingly heavy loads. When the inductive load is switched off, the collapsing magnetic field converts into electrical energy, which takes the form of a double exponential transient. Depending on the source, these transients can be as large as hundreds of volts and hundreds of amperes, with durations of 400 ms. Due to varying load sizes, there will be variance in wave shape, duration, peak current, and peak voltage of the transients. Once these variables are approximated, circuit designers will be able to select a suitable suppressor type. ⢠Electrostatic discharge (ESD): This energy is the result of an imbalance of positive and negative charges between objects. Itâs characterized by very fast rise times and very high peak voltages and currents.
AC is safer than DC. You can let go of two AC terminals but not DC as DC keeps your muscles clenched. AC doesn’t.
UL rule of thumb for shock hazard: 1.5mm / 60mils distance between a hazardous live conductor and something touchable for single insulation level protection (double that for double insulation).
If you have a 3D-capable Sony television to view them on, capturing 3D images can definitely be entertaining. That’s about where I’d leave it, though: "Entertaining" vs "compelling." While you do get a reasonable 3D effect in shots captured this way, I found the quality of the 3D experience a little disappointing. Don’t expect Avatar-level 3D, this strikes me as more of a gee-whiz sort of feature: In my experience, the 3D effect is a bit limited, and foreground objects tend to break up visually. I suspect this has to do with the fact that the perspective is changing throughout the sweep, so things like effective intraocular distance and viewing angle aren’t perfectly consistent throughout the image. Whatever the cause, it’s a fun effect, but not something that would be a decisive factor for me in choosing a camera, whereas ordinary 2D sweep panorama is something that I’ve used often. (Personally, I suspect this feature has a lot less to do with selling cameras than it does with selling TVs: I wouldn’t buy a camera for the feature, but all else being equal, if I owned a Sony camera that had the feature, I’d be more inclined to purchase a Sony television that supported it.)
Try it- measure the voltage between the neutral and earth ground pin on a North American outlet. If the voltage is near zero, then you have a bonded ground system. If you see 1V or more, then you either do not have a bonded ground, or you have poor / undersized / or very long wire runs between the breaker box and the point you’re measuring.
For while it inevitably doesn’t turn back the clock and serve up the giggle-a-minute thrills of hatches of yesteryear, unencumbered by safety or emissions regulations as they were, the Corolla is a genuinely enjoyable car to drive, gripping the road and controlling its body movements very well, and giving the driver the feedback to know what the front wheels are doing . It is both reassuring and genuinely engaging.
Creepage to the mounting screws is one issue and that fuse crowed by traces at mains potential is just bad design.
