A 25A relay seems perfect for a 22A load. If the relay is really built for 25A and not only marked as one. What use had a maximum rating when you could never really use it?
On our case a combo was the right solution. We use a contactor (a relay) to switch incoming power because it’s either on or off. But we use a SSR to switch elements on and off because they cycle on/off many times a minute.
My testimony : 230VAC doesn’t kill if you’re lucky. Lots of people died on 230VAC (Claude François….)
Zaprodk bitches about the absence of a fuse — which is clearly explained to be located on a separate power entry board.
No I don’t want one, because I have a computer museum and I don’t feel the need to instant-wipe all my floppy disks at the flip of a switch.
I’m confused… “Wire up the outlets for your mining rigs for 240 instead of 120”, shouldn’t you rig it up to use whatever enters your home. Apparently there is a choice, how is that possible, do they run their own generators over there?
There are lots of AC coils out there – in my parts bins I have AC driven relays, and AC solenoid valves. How do they work?
Multilayer varistors (MLVs) address a specific part of the transient-voltage spectrum: the circuit-board environment. Although lower in energy, transients from ESD, inductive load switching, and even lightning-surge remnants might otherwise reach sensitive integrated circuits on the board. MLVs are also made of ZnO materials, but theyâre fabricated with interwoven layers of metal electrodes and produced in leadless ceramic packages. Theyâre designed to transition from a high-impedance state to a conduction state when subjected to voltages that exceed their nominal voltage rating.
From the Auris to this, haven’t Toyota learnt anything. It’s just a slightly bigger and slightlly less DULL than the car it replaces.
Read ‘Hack’ as in ” don’t really know what they’re doing” or ” shouldn’t really work but does anyway”
Low voltage DC distribution makes sense in some cases. 12V is pretty low, though: copper losses are still high, so the amount of copper required is expensive for house-scale. 48V uses one sixteenth the amount of copper, and still is below the shock hazard limit. 48V rack systems are mature, common and are a great idea.
A clean filter is vital to a well-functioning air conditioner. During the summer it is good to check your filters once a month. If you have pets, leave windows and doors open, or have allergies, you may need to change your filter more often.
